Elmsdale Vision Centre introduced state-of-the art digital retinal imagining to the practice in May
2008.This new technology gives us the ability to capture images of the inside of your eyes, including the optic
nerve, macula (area of your centre vision), retina, and retinal blood vessels. It takes only a few seconds to capture the
images, during which no contact is made with your eyes. The images are instantly transferred to a computer monitor in the
examination room, allowing your Doctor to review them with you during your examination.
This amazing technology creates a permanent record of your current retinal health which allows your Doctor to better
monitor your eye for diseases such as glaucoma, macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy.
